Itinerary

Tillicum Village - Experience the Northwest Coast Native American culture in Blake Island State Park

Start you adventure on this informative and Cultural Experiece. The vessel will cruise from Pier 55 to Blake Island. Enjoy beverages from the no-host bar with a wide variety of beverages available to enjoy during your cruise. Sit back and enjoy the breathtaking scenery on this 45 minute cruise.

Upon arrival at Blake Island at approximately - 12:15pm or 5:15pm - be greeted by enjoyable appetizers of clams and nectar, before being escorted into The Great Cedar Longhouse for an award-winning salmon feast. Tillicum village salmon is cooked over open fire on cedar stakes in the ancient Northwest Coast Native American fashion. Be sure to crush those empty clam shells when you are finished. They're fun to smash and you will help preserve our path! Inside the longhouse, watch as whole Chinook salmon is cooked over an alder-wood fire on cedar stakes in the traditional Northwest Coast Indian style. Your meal is served buffet-style.

  • Menu: Traditional Indian-style Baked Salmon, Warm Tillicum Whole Grain Bread, New Red Potatoes, Long-Grain Wild Rice, Fresh Salad Bar, Boehm's Chocolate Salmon, Coffee, Tea, Lemonade.

As you finish your meal, the lights dim while the myth and magic come to life in the spellbinding performance featuring the Tillicum Village dancers. The highly acclaimed show leads visitors through an enchanting tour of the customs, beliefs and dances of the Northwest Coast Indians.

After the show, you have approximately 30 minutes of free time when you can watch carving demonstrations, browse through the gift gallery featuring artwork of local artisans or stroll along the pleasant beaches and forest trails before boarding the boat and enjoy the relaxing cruise back to Seattle.

Following your meal enjoy "Dance On The Wind," a spellbinding stage presentation highlighting some of the traditional dances, myths and legends of the Northwest Coast in a magical and unforgettable setting, produced by Greg Thompson of seattle.

After your meal and dance experience, your group will have some free time to explore. We have many things to see and do on Blake Island State Park. The richness of our natural environment can be explored on beautiful Northwest Coast beaches and nature trails. During this exploration you will see flora and fauna native to this region and possibly some friendly deer and soaring eagles.

In The Tillicum Village Facility, which is a traditionally styled Northwest Coast Native American cedar longhouse, are many artifacts on display. There is a gift gallery in the longhouse with items that represent northwest coast native americans as well as many unique items crafted by Tillicum Village staff members.
