Spend your day kayaking through one of the Pacific Northwest's most breathtaking scenery, the San Juan Islands. Let our expert naturalist kayak guide assist you in discovering the wonder of our marine wildlife and remote wildlife refuges. San Juan Island is the best place to view Orcas in their natural habitat. Plus see Seals, Tide Pools, Kelp Forests, Rugged Coastlines and eat lunch on a remote beach.

Since we offer whale watching by boat, our guides have an excellent network as to the whales whereabouts. Our guides carry marine radios to keep in touch with the Whale Watching Boat. Never more than 8 guests, this low ration of guests to guide, assures maximum safety, maximum personal attention and an intimate touring experience.

The Orca Search by Kayak is a Great Learning Experience and Great Fun!

You will receive a paddling and safety lesson and be assisted into your kayak from the specially designed finger kayak docks. No wading into the water as the kayak docks allow for easy entry and exit and no time wasted loading and unloading kayaks.

Tour Details

• No experience Necessary

• Paddling and Safety lesson

• Guest must easily slip in and out of the kayak cockpit

• Guest should be in good condition with plenty of upper body strength. Paddling time is approximately 4.25 Hours 

• All equipment is included - spray skirt, vest, paddle, kayak and dry bag

• Guest should bring: Lunch, water and snacks. Lunch break will be on a remote island

Getting to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island:

Guest must first get to Anacortes where they can take the WA State Ferry to San Juan Island.

• Getting to Anacortes: Located approximately 85 miles and 1.5 Hours North of Seattle. Click here for Google Map and Driving Directions

• Ferry Tickets to San Juan Island: Ferry Transfer is available as early as 6:00am. You must board a Ferry that will get you to San Juan Island by 12:00 - 12:30pm so that you can make the 1:00pm Tour Departure Time. The Ferry Ride is designated as a Scenic Byway. • Upon arrival in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, our office is located at 2 Spring Street Landing, directly under Downriggers Restaurant located right on the water. Look for San Juan Safaris.

To San Juan by Air:

• Flights are offered from Seattle to San Juan. Guest wishing to fly to San Juan may contact Kenmore Air Services for rates and schedules.

Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

This tour must be booked at least 24hrs in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12-24 hours subject to availability. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher. Print this voucher on your home/office printer and present SIGNED voucher at departure location. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations within 72 hours of the tour are charged in full.Cancellations prior to 72 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge 100% for No Shows. If the tour iscancelled by the tour operator, the full ticket price will be refunded.
