River Classifications
River classification means the degree of difficulty of rafting the river. The higher the rating, the more obstacles (such as rocks and trees) are in the river. It does not mean the higher the waves. The Wenatchee and the Methow rivers are only class 3 but have the tallest rapids in the state.
What to Bring:
Be sure everyone in your group brings these items, even if you think the weather is going to be warm! The Methow River is at the base of the North Cascades Mountains, and weather conditions change rapidly.
Note: Please do not wear any cotton clothing (sweatshirts, jeans, etc.) on the river. Unlike wool and polypropylene, cotton will not keep you warm when it gets wet.
